Famous + Naked + Yaaks = Madness!

Well in a few hours I and a mate, (because I only have one) will be going down to Digital in Brighton to see THE NAKED AND FAMOUS. And although I am really looking forward to seeing the band with their post MGMT sound, with songs like Young Blood and my personal favorite Punching A Dream. Its the support act im looking forward to seeing the most.
Since posting about the YAAKS they have uploaded a new song called Cavalcade on their Myspace. Being the chap I am I looked in to this "cavalcade" and found it is indeed a procession or parade on horseback, or a mass trail ride by a company of riders. Thanks Wiki.
Yet more mystery about this still un-known band. So will YAAKS be the sort of Eastbourne based APES AND ANDROIDS or EMPIRE OF THE SUN, full of elaborate flamboyance and just maybe the cliché of masks. I kind of hope so, keeps a man guessing and thats all we have been doing untill tonight, when they reveal their true identity.

See you there folks.

Yaaks live in brighton!

Yes we finally get to see this very secretive band from Eastbourne, get tickets in the flesh only by the looks of things. Say pop down to Resident Music or Rounder Records to get your mittens on this highly prized affair. They are playing Digital (Brighton) on March 9th 2011 with The Naked & Famous.

And some Electro Swing by The Correspondents, oh and these guys are playing at The Hanbury Ballroom (Brighton) Friday, February 18th 2011 but it might be sold out, I'll use my wizard skills to acquire a ticket...

...Or not!

Songs of The Day

Chief from LA, brothers Danny, Michael Fujikawa, Mike Moonves and Evan Koga. Possibly the new Kings of Leon factor, let they sound a little Mumford and Sons.
They sound very much like the kings before they derailed there music and turned it into simon Cowoll's wet-dream.
Anyway I give you Chief - "Mighty Proud" Ladies and Gentlemen, fucking awesome guitar solo at the end!

And "Night and Day"
Chief - Night and Day by Fone

Outfit Of The Day, Butthole Surfers.

Formed in 1970 and from Texas the Butthole Surfers come out of the punk scene. Pretty chilled stuff in this song from Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet.
