In case we did'nt say before there's "FREE CAMPING!!!!!"

There's only 6 months left on the calendar till Meadowlands Festival 2011 and early tickets are now available to buy here. Last years gig was a good old crack like the years before it. I just hope the gods will give us better weather next year!
I hear there is a sin-dig happening for the team at the festival but i can't tell you that info or i would be casted out! But to be honest its pretty easy to find on google.
Anyway camper vans are going to be allowed again this year and it will be a three day weekend again, also the mad hatter Bang Said The Gun will be running the Comedy and Spoken Word Tent. Which does exactly what its say on the tin.
Theres bundles of info ready and waiting to be thrown out to the unsuspecting public,  so watch this space!
The festivals has loads of ways to interact with them: their Myspace, their Facebook, Twitter and of course their website!

If your in a band or you are artist would would like to be seen at a new and up an coming music festival then please contact Meadowlands management here. Hope to see you there!

Thanks to Nikola Tesla.

This week i have been totally hooked on two artists called Waldeck and Willie Bobo-(no that's not his real name! its William Correa). Willie Bobo - Spanish Grease on the player below is a remix. Its funky beats are super sweet, a great song to listen to on these cold winter snaps, a real summer feel. The chap below is Waldeck a Viennese former copyright lawyer and turned musician. He has a electronic/trip-hop sound to him, this song called Midsummer Night Blues is really cool and you gotta love the piano in the small parts.

Also this week i was also listening to the beautiful voice of Giselle Rossell from Sydney OZ, she has done a song recently with Flight Facilities called Crave you. The music video to the song is below, also you can find her here.

And just quickly a band worth mentioning called Broken Social Scene from Toronto, Canada. They have been around since 1999 and have no less than three guitars in the band! The song below is called Lover's Spit and you can find out more of them here.

I want to let you know that all the music I have put up in this post I have listen to on some of the best radio stations in the world. FIP Radio (France), Radio Paradise (Paradise, California) and Nova Radio (France) are all commercial free and play a huge variety of different music genres. Its worth checking them out because although BBC 6 music is pretty cool, Heart and BBC 1 Radio isn't! And I think its good to open your mind to different music around the world.

YAAKS

The wonders of the Internet are pretty weird sometimes, i was listening to Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music yesterday and a band called Yaaks came on. "Wow, their good i must go looking for them." And of course i put yacks into google instead of yaaks and that started a long and enduring hunger to find this stunning band. I was just about to give up after going thought about about 300 friends of friends on Myspace when i came across a band who's name is pretty close to me.
They were called Hurstpierpoint, that's really bizarre, cos that's were I'm from, out of all the names in all the world and the fact that i come across them by accident. Its a strange old world.

Anyway I did find the band i went out looking for in the first place, and i really can't stop listening to them. I'm listening to them now, they only have two songs and a little clip called "Demo 2 Sample". Now no one seems to know anything about band apart from the very minimalistic Myspace they have up, only saying "Yaaks are six minds playing music to best portray the thoughts of Jean Jacques Rousseau" and their from Eastbourne.
But don't let Eastbourne put you off, the first two songs are just some of the best music i have heard in a long time.
HRHRHYTHM by YAAKS

The first song called HRHRythm sounds like the dreamy state of MGMT with what sounds like the singing voice of Ed Larrikin, expected cowbells!
BRKLYN FIG 1 (DEMO) by YAAKS
The second song BRKYLN is great, i love the trumpets in the background and the general rhythm of the track; the predominant base line and continuation of the guitar riffs.  It makes you wanna jump up and dance in you living room or bedroom or wherever!!

Do your duty and learn Rock and Roll

Find out:
Why you need guitars when these kind of creeps are around?
Why you should you use the rounded edge and why he plays it like a huge black guy....
