Black Mountain

I know a band you just going to love, there called as the title says Black Mountain and are from Vancouver, Canada. 

Listening to "The Hair Song" (off there newest album Wilderness Heart) they have a real warmth to them, like drinking a fine porter in winter, next to a roaring open fire and a cat curled up by your feet. 



Then you change the scales completely by listening to "Let Spirits Ride", which sounds more like your caning it down Route 66 with the petal to the metal and smoking Death Cigarettes constantly.



This song "Set Us Free" is off the first self-titled album. 



I want to turn around now and say there playing some time soon, but there not. Its always the way, you get into an amazing band then you find out they were playing last month. 
But watch this space, because I'm not missing them for the world next time!

Pretty boring weekend, but Hal Cruttenden is very funny check him out here talking about being posh. Some guys at this forum seem to know who Donkey Pitch...bah bah bah are, some thing to do with Dubstep. And Hot Hot Heat are a  4-piece Canadian alt rock band, been around since 2001 and have opened for Weezer, Foo Fighters and The Killers. Not my sort of thing, I think they totally riped off The Strokes. The lead singer looks like one of those curly haired dogs as well...

On The Rocks

Now i was going to spend a lot of time making a seriously good post, but then it when all wrong. I couldn't decide what to write or to quote or how to post. So well...  

Anyway i found this blog yesterday and i think their pretty cool. Their on the ball about the music around Brighton which puts A Bit Chish and Fips* to shame.  

Wait did i just say that, god, get a grip!  

So i should really steal their stuff but I'm not that evil, and their local, (I think) Brighton like.

Project: Meadowlands Festival. Area: Getting people to recycle.

A short about recycling, cutting your carbon footprint and looking after mother nature was released a few days-a-go by Environmental campaigners 10:10. Keeping with Meadowlands Festival anyone caught not doing there bit for the environment will have this happen to you.

This film is a little NSFW depending on which way you look at it, but it is also very funny and does somehow make aware of environment issues. You have been warned....
